The Wine Industry Development Association (WIDA) was established on 29 November 2006 and was one of the four business units of the South African Wine Industry Council.
Our goal is to promote transformation through economic empowerment, human resource development and training, sound industrial relations and social development.
We focus on professional capacity building and skills development support within a transformation model and target all links in the wine value chain.
We are dedicated to human resource development, education and training as well as focused support activities such as multilevel mentoring and enterprise development. Our other activities are directed towards promoting transformation and BBEEE through initiatives such as land reform, enterprise development and management, technology transfer and employment equity. All these are pertinent focus areas of the Wine-BBEEE Charter and Industry Scorecard.
